Study On The Regional And Decorative Attributes Of Inscription

Inscription is also called bronze script,which can be fund on bronze wares.The ancients used to cast some great issues of country or religion on bronze wares with various ways.Inscription is very precious as its rich and credible historic value.During the Spring and Autumn warring state period,inscription developed in a high speed,from literal character into decorative symbol.It varied from the south area to the north area in the period.The Bird-Insect Script of Chu State which represents the inscription of the south area and the bronze ware inscription which represents the north area's inscription are both treasure of Chinese civilization.This dissertation attempts to analysis how does inscription varies in different districts and its decorative character,based on the bronze ware script.I study the development of inscription,especially the character of Bird-Insect Script which maters much in Chinese art circles.Comparison is used between the bronze ware script of Zhongshan State and Bird-Insect Script to show the latter's regional and decorative attributes.In order to make the theme clear,this essay is made up with four chapter.In the first chapter,the brief history of inscription and Bird-Insect Script and some typical inscription coming from the south and north area are recommended.The second chapter is mainly about the regional attributes of inscription,it reveals the matters why inscription differs in districts.Different characters of Bird-Insect Script in south countries especially Chu State Yue State Wu State and Cai State are compared.The third chapter analyzes the unique attributes of regional decoration.It focus on the Bird-Insect Script,including the decorating style and the aesthetic perception of Bird-Insect Scrip.The last chapter interprets the relationship between Bird-Insect Script and the national spirit of Chu state.Bird-Insect Script originates from Chu State,it worth being studied.I wish to make a contribution to the researching of Bird-Insect Script and benefit from this work.
