Applied Research Of Bird And Insect Script In Poster Design

This thesis describes the formation and development of bird and insect script. In Spring and Autumn and Warring States period, each prince of the country acts on his own will. They use their respective set character, currency, etc. and eventually led to a chaotic situation. Therefore, it brought the necessary conditions of character development and contributed to the so-called "Qin Shu eight styles" spectacle in the developmental process of character among which is bird and insect script. After taking a reference of Cao Jinyan’s bird and insect script investigation and according to characteristics of bird shape in bird and insect script, this thesis divides the bird and insect script into six categories and concretely analysis and explains each category.On the ancient bird pest was studied, its use, including bronze inscriptions and weapons, and for example, the paper analyses the characteristics of birds and insects.This thesis focuses on the author’s point of view and summarizes the three methods (direct method, method of grafting, and chart) and the four attributes (decorative, traditional, times, readability) in the application of the bird and insect script design.the analysis and description on usage of the ancient and modern bird and insect script in design. It also makes a detailed analysis of three cases to explain the methods and properties mentioned above. Summary of methods and properties for later use, bird pest of book design has a certain guiding function. Containing bird pest design the form of novel, unique style, embodies the Chinese traditional design culture and contemporary design culture, have the potential to form designs on a unique style. Citing examples to analyze containing bird pest poster specific application.The third chapter is research on the modern bird and insect script design. Modern bird and insect script design differs from ancient times. Through the historical inheritance and designer’s improvement, it has unique characteristics. According to its usage, it is divided into two categories:one kind is practical, including a variety of design (logo, totem, paper-cut, book cover, etc.)in use; another kind is art including calligraphy and seal cutting. The article f gives an explanation for each category illustrated with example and analyzes the characteristics of the bird and insect script in use.
