| Most investors are concerned about a company’s financial operations.Reading the financial statements is an effective way to know a company’s income situation.As a typical informative text,the notes to annual financial statements provide the users with supplementary information,helping them better understand the statements and make more scientific and reasonable decisions.Concentrating on the translation of the first four parts of the Hengfeng Bank Co.,Ltd.Notes to 2015 Annual Financial Statements,the author applies and summarizes the strategy and skills employed in this translation practice.During the practice,focusing on dealing with cultural differences and providing a natural and native translation,the author applies domestication as translation strategy and free translation as translation method.Under the guidance of Hans Vermeer’s Skopos theory and its three rules,the author pays attention to the features of informative texts and applies conversion,division,amplification and transliteration as translation skills when translating the terminologies,long complex segments and sentences to solve the main problems that occurred during the translation,and also researches the crucial guidance of Skopos theory in the translation of the source text.In order to ensure the quality of translation and meet the requirements of target language readers,especially the initiator,the author applies CAT(computer aided translation)software and references related parallel texts,which greatly increase the efficiency of translation and ensured the quality of it.In order to increase the translation efficiency and quality of notes to annual financial statements,this project applies practical and available theoretical guidance and translation skills.The author translates this informative text under the guidance of Skopos theory and summarizes typical translation problems of terminologies and long complex sentences translation,with the aim of providing reference and insights for similar translation works. |
