This thesis is made up of three parts: the source text of Transdisciplinary Collaborations for Sustainability Education: Institutional and Intragroup Challenges and Opportunities,the Chinese version of it and the report on the translation.The source text characterizes sustainability education as transdisciplinary praxis,explores both the concepts of sustainability,transdisciplinarityand praxis and the institutional and interpersonal barriers to transdisciplinary faculty collaboration,and suggests rationales and strategies for overcoming these barriers.The Chinese version provides new research findings for domestic educators and researchers,especially those working in colleges and universities.The report on the translation introduces some basic information about the source text and explains why it is chosen to be translated.Then it is pointed out that the original is an informative text and the Skopos Theory is introduced.Example are given and analyzed to illustrate how the translator has been trying to improve her translations under the guidance ofthe “skopos rule”and the “coherence rule”.And the translator's reflections are summed up at the end of the report.
