The English-chinese Translation Of Developing Leadership Character In Business Programs And A Report On The Translation

The thesis consists of three parts, namely, the source text of Developing LeadershipCharacter in Business Programs, the Chinese version translated by the author and a reporton the translation. The source text, a thesis on management, aims to encourage leadershipcharacter in business program and provides advice on developing it. The translation of suchan informative text is of significance to the translator because it helps her to deepen herunderstanding of translation theories as well as improving her translation skills. And theChinese version is expected to be of help to the domestic researchers in this field.The translation report introduces some basic information about the source text,including its linguistic features. Then it analyzes in detail the “Skopos Theory” and how thewriter and translator applies the theory to practice by resorting to such translationtechniques as synchronizing, reversing, conversion, addition and omission. Examples are also cited toillustrate how the translator tries to improve the readability of her version by taking into account theculture of the target language and resorting to the classical Chinese language and four-characterexpressions. The experience gained is then summed up.
