A C-E Translation Report On The Text Of Exhibition Hall Of The Yuan, The Ming And The Qing Dynasties Of Yunnan Provincial Museum

The museum is considered as an indispensable tool and platform for national culture of internal inheritance and external communication,which acquires,retains researches and exhibits the tangible heritage of humanity and is a microcosm of long history of a country or region.Yunnan Provincial Museum as the national first-grade museum is like a business card of Yunnan and is rich in the resources of culture.However,it has little English because of its new opening.The text of the exhibition hall of the Yuan,the Ming and the Q ing Dynasties was chosen as the source text.On the analysis of the type and features of the museum text,the translator adopted the strategies of transliteration,omission and annotation to translate under the guiding of functional equivalence and cultural translation theory.At last,it was concluded that in the translation of museum text,the first is to convey the information which is utilized to stimulate the visitors' interest;the second is to make attempt to interpret the cultural concepts based on the functional equivalence and culture translation theory;and the last is to achieve the purpose of transmission of culture.Thereby the translator should try to keep the cultural elements under the premise of target readers obtaining information.The translator's intention is to look for patterns among the museum texts to provide references...
