Sarasate《Romance Andalusia》Music And Performance Analysis

In the history of violin,Sarasate is undoubted a sparking star.Graduated from Paris Conservatory of Music in France,he created numerous classical music works of violin in his performance career for more than fourteen years,including some recomposed from famous songs and most created by fusing with folk melodies of his hom town.From 1878 to 1882,he composed eight violin folk songs,Spanish Dances which are sure of Spanish features in rhythm and texture composition,melodic materials or the imitation of other musical instruments.The author mainly analyzes Andalusia Romance,the first encore from Spanish Dances and hopes to help other performers better appreciate and perform this encore,and readers and audience are more fond of it through this paper.At the beginning of the paper comes the introduction to Sarasate,then analysis of musical elements and creation styles of the work.The author exploits professional knowledge to analyze the musical pattern of the work,learns about performance features and techniques of Sarasate through studying references,and further analyzes technical difficulties of this work under the theory of violin performance proposed by Carl Flesch.On this basis,the author provide personal insights into and appreciation of the work.
