High school students are at the critical stage for selection of specifications and career preparation,therefore the aim of education will be perfectly achieved if schools could assist students in helping building their life attitude,perfect personality and forming a mature life career planning besides the transmission of knowledge.However,it is still rather rare for vocational education before university in China at present.With the development of economy and the education reform,it will be more and more difficult for high school education without vocational guidance to meet the needs of the students.In this sense,career maturity is worth being paid more attentions.Actually,individual career maturity is merely a result,and that will call for a continuous developing process,in which the healthy psychological function and perfect personality development will not only provide necessary premise condition for career development,but also an important guarantee for promoting career maturity.The study,aimed to examine the relationship among career maturity,ego-identity risk and plural well-being in the tenth grade students from two key high schools,using a longitudinal design.The results will provide effective advises of their career planning education.The results are as following:(1)The tenth grade students showed a middle level of career development.As for the overall comparison,students who were the only child,extern students,those who participated in social practice or lived in the nuclear family have significant higher score than their peers with the opposite conditions respectively.The career maturity of students had positive relation with parents’ education level.Students whose parents working in government had significant higher career maturity than those working in other industries.(2)The ego-identity risk level of the tenth grade students was not high.Extern students,or those who participated in social practice had significant higher level of ego-identity than resident students or those with little social practice participation.In contrast with students whose parents with lower education level,students whose parents with higher education level had significant perfect ego-identity development.Students whose father working in the government developed significant better ego-identity than students whose fathers working in the other industries.(3)The tenth grade students’ plural well-being was in a middle-high level in general.Extern students or students with social practice experiences showed significant higher plural well-being than resident students or students with no social practice experiences.The tenth grade students’plural well-being had positive relation with parents’ education level.(4)There was significantly correlation among plural well-being,ego-identity and career maturity of the tenth grade students:ego-identity had significantly negative relation with plural well-being;ego-identity had significantly negative relation with career maturity;plural well-being had significantly positive relation with career maturity.(5)The tenth grade students’ plural well-being positively predicted career maturity;ego-identity negtively predicted career maturity;and ego-identity played as a full mediator in the influence of plural well-being on the career maturity.
