The research on career maturity is benefit to the implement of career guidance. Firstly, this study gives the literature overviews of career maturity's concepts, theories and research.Then it goes into empirical study. Here "college students' career maturity questionnaire" is compiled in the study. Also the assessment of career maturity and the intervention to it by career counseling are made. At last, it studies the correlation between college students' career maturity and career decision-making difficulty. The results indicate:1. The reliability, validity and other psychometrics indexes of "college students' career maturity questionnaire" are satisfactory. And it can be used to assess career maturity.2. Under recent condition, college students' career maturity is not good. Although they have some career consciousness and self-knowledge, they lack the abilities of collecting career information, career planning and implementation.3. For the whole questionnaire, there is no significant difference between grades. But the scores of high grade students are obviously higher than those of low grade students in the dimensions of initiative, collecting career information. On the contrary, the scores of high grade students are lower than those of low grade students in the dimension of independence, and it reaches significant level. On the other hand, there is significant difference between genders in the attitude questionnaire, and in the ability questionnaire, significant difference exists in the dimensions of collecting career information, career planning and implementation.4. The intervention to two students' career maturity by career counseling is effective. And the effect mainly focuses on five dimensions: initiative, reality, decisiveness in the attitude questionnaire and self-appraisal, career planning and implementation in the ability questionnaire.5. The correlation between career maturity and career decision-making difficulty is negative. The person who has higher career maturity has lower career decision-making difficulty, vice versa.
