A Reflective Report On The Simulated E-C Si Of "Sino-Foreign Film Coprod Uction Forum"

In this information age,the international conference has acted as an important arena for the discussion of common issues and coordination of the interests among countries.The content of the conference is more and more diversified,including politics,economy,culture and education and hence international conference interpreting is a requirement for strong interpreting ability.Accordingly,its research seems to be more necessary and urgent.This is a reflective report on the simulated English-Chinese(E-C)simultaneous interpretation(SI)of a conference,“Sino-Foreign Film Co-production Forum” in the 5th Beijing International Film Festival.In this report,the development of interpreting and its growing importance in contemporary international conference are outlined,while the simulation task is emphatically discussed,including the problems in the simulation practice and the corresponding solutions through the case analysis.The purpose of this simulation is trying to find the corresponding interpretation skills for cultural forums.The report points out that simplification and reformulation can be used to deal with lengthiness and confusion of logic in interpretation,requiring the interpreter to grasp the substantive meaning in speakers’ expression,rather than the one-sided pursuit of faithfulness to the original.At the same time,one can not ignore the effect of interpreting anxiety on interpreting effect,instead,let the appropriate degree of anxiety play its function of activating or promoting language activities and language conversion,so as to achieve satisfactory interpretation effect.
