| This report is an English-Chinese translation report on The Curse of Cash.Chapter?,Chapter ? and Chapter IV are selected from the book The Curse of Cash as the translation text and the object of the cases analysis.The Curse of Cash offers a plan for phasing out most paper money while leaving small denomination bills and coins in circulation indefinitely.In addition,The Curse of Cash belongs to the economic text.Many scholars at home and abroad have adopted different theories and methods to study economic text translation.The overall trend in economic translation study is increasing at home and abroad.The goal of the translation report is to make translators acquire several practical translation methods and some economic knowledge by combining the translation cases.This report analyzes the source text,and explores the difficulties from the lexical,syntactic and textual aspects.In addition,the key part of this translation report is Chapter ?.Combing with difficulties in translation,the translator divides the Chapter IV into three parts.(1)At the lexical aspect,the translator introduces the translation method of the economic terms—referring to the online dictionaries and related materials.In addition,to get an accurate and smooth translation,conversion is also put forward in this part,for instance,converting the nouns in English into the verbs in Chinese.(2)At the syntactic aspect,the translator describes two translation methods of the passive sentences and two translation methods of restructuring to analyze the specific translation cases.(3)At the textual aspect,the translator talks about the amplification,which is adding necessary verbs and connectives to make sure that the translation is smooth,natural and meet the reading habits of the Chinese readers.After translating three chapters of this book,the translator has summarized some translation experience and realized that translation experience is inadequate and the translation ability needs to be improved. |
