Research On The Chinese Animal Words And Teaching Suggestions In TCSOL

For thousands of years,animal words have abundant meanings and widely using in Chinese.It not only is closely related to people’s lives,and also profoundly reflected the Chinese people’s way of thinking and the cultural characteristics.The meaning of animal words are not all the same because they are produced by various cultures.Sometimes they result in misunderstandings in the intercultural communication,even culture shock.Based on the previous research,this thesis took Boya Chinese Quasi-Intermediate for example,analyzed seven animal words’ spiritual significance.Also,collected actual Chinese teaching cases of Confucius Institute at University of Rwanda,College of Education.After analyzing the cultural differences arising in the cases,some errors were found in Rwanda people’s Chinese learning.On the basis of animal words’ analyzing and cases’ studying,the author puts forward specific teaching strategies,highlights the practical,communicative and interesting teaching.On the other hand,culture analysis and comparison,integration into the cultural experience,the combination of traditional and modern culture are also stressed.The first part explained the background and significance,then illustrated the research status from the aspects of animal words,language acquisition,cultural analyzes and the teaching design.The second part defined the concept of animal words,and elaborated the typical animal words of Boya Chinese Quasi-Intermediate.The third part represented and analyzed the teaching cases of Confucius Institute Rwanda University,College of Education.The forth part gave the specific teaching suggestions about animal words based on the analysis before.Hope this article will be benefit to the Chinese animal words’ teaching,provide some suggestions for the Chineselearners.
