Vocabulary teaching is one of the most important aspects of the classroom teaching Chinese as a foreign language,with the improvement of Chinese learners’ level of Chinese language,vocabulary learning difficulty rising,metaphor in the number of words in the textbooks are also increasing,which embodies the Chinese culture connotation and the quantity and category is extremely complex,this caused the difficult point in vocabulary learning for those foreign students whose mother tongue is not Chinese.Therefore,how to deal with these words in textbooks and how to carry out targeted teaching is an urgent problem for TCFL teachers.In this paper,we study the metaphor words refers to the metaphorical way of constructing word and in word meaning extension and application of metaphorical meanings of the words,This paper selects 7 textbooks in the classic comprehensive series of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,namely,Boya Chinese(the second edition),and have examined in detail the metaphorical words used in all the articles,counted 567 metaphorical words.We use coined words,meanings and the extended meaning two aspects to classify them,it is concluded 267 the full type,the prefigurative type and after figurative type metaphorical words,216 metaphorical meanings in extended meanings of words,and 84 metaphorical idioms.Among these 567 metaphorical words,there are more than 60% nouns,and the rest are mostly verbs and adjectives.The number of metaphorical words in advanced textbooks is about 1.5 times that in intermediate textbooks.After further analysis,we found that the metaphor degree of different types of metaphors words and different level words is different,the more people know,the more commonly used,the word’s metaphor degree is lower,in general,the metaphor degree of hemimetaphor in the textbook is higher than the full type metaphor,and higher than the extended meanings of metaphor meanings of the word,metaphorical idioms are the lowest class,metaphor degree is also one of the important basis of targeted teaching for teachers.In the statistics after the metaphorical words in teaching materials,we according to the proportion of various types of metaphorical words,selected 60 commonly used words to make the test paper,and more than one hundred foreign students whose mother tongue is not Chinese have been tested in two exams,and found them in the acquisition of higher metaphor and lowest metaphor have great difficulties,so for this differences of acquisition,we proposed some teaching strategies of according to the hierarchy of metaphor for teaching,introducing the word creation principle of metaphor and cultural metaphor,making mind map to help students remember the meaning of a metaphor.It provides reference for the teaching of metaphorical words in the classroom of TCFL teachers.
