The aim of this thesis is to explore the view of modern Russian teenagers on image of China,the knowledge of Chinese people and informational channels that affect these images.Using research methods,such as survey and interview,make a research between 85 Russian students of two middle schools of the Republic of Buryatia.In the questionnaire we try to combine such questions as: “association of words and expressions”,“Bogdas scale of social distance” and others,to make questionnaire more comprehend save.During the research we notice,that in the minds of Russian students China’s image is mainly positive,they believe,that China is a country,that has a great outlook on their elders,a fast development,a strong discipline,traditions,and a good economic development;and they have a good impression of Chinese level of life,education,human environment,public security and sports.In addition,Russian adolescents believe,that no matter now or in future,China is Russian allied country.They also have a friendly attitude toward Chinese people.In the minds of young Russian people,the Chinese are mostly hardworking,patriotic,friendly,tenacious,and enthusiastic and have a positive image.But in comparison with the rich positive image,Russian adolescents also have a certain negative perception about China and Chinese people.The negative perception of China’s image is mainly concentrated in the shoddy aspects of Chinese goods,as few years ago,“Made in China” fake and shoddy products go deeply into the maids of Russian adolescents.The main negative perception of Chinese people is that they are “noisy” and “insincere”.We divide informational channels that have an influence on Russian students about China and Chinese people into direct channels and indirect channels;direct channel includes people,who are in China and who communicated with Chinese people before;indirect cultural output,mass media,material products,interpersonal communication-these four aspects.During the research we have found,that direct is very conducive to the formation of a positive image about China,but adolescents,who have gone to China and communicate with Chinese people still not too many.In the indirect contact,what teacher says and Chinese products make a direct impression on the positive image of China in the minds of Russian teenagers;mass media Internet news and material goods mostly make a negative impression on adolescents.In short,through the research,we notice,that modern Russian young people think,that Chinese people are hard-working,patriotic,friendly and warm hearted.And with China’s national strength,the image of China in Russian minds is becoming more objective and clear.Overall,the development trend is good;the overall image is also good.However,some media have exaggerated news events and make false reports;it affects Russian teenagers’ cognition of China’s national image.Therefore,it is the end of the thesis,the author,using the results of the research,gives constructive comments about how to guide correctly Russian teenagers in the knowledge about China’s national image and how to strengthen further cultural exchanges between two countries.
