With the promising development of mobile technology,great changes have taken place on mobile game,which has become increasingly complicated and diversified.As different mobile games keep competing each other to win larger markets,an increasing number of Chinese mobile games are attempting to enter the overseas’ markets.Current researches mainly focus on the localization translation of foreign mobile game,however,researches on the translation of Chinese mobile game turn out to be relatively less.This article will give a report on the translation of strategy mobile game(Chinese to English)from the perspective of Skopos theory in the aim to share related experience and skills by linking theory with practice.This translation report consists of five parts: chapter I is general introduction on research background,projection and structure of the report.Chapter II is process management,which will elaborate on the ST analysis,parallel texts and quality control.Chapter III will introduce Skopos theory as the theoretical foundation of this report.Chapter IV is case study,which will give detailed analysis of relevant translation strategies under three rules of Skopos theory.Chapter V is conclusion composed by major findings and significance of this report.And the author hopes that the translation of this newly emerging and thriving field will be further standardized and optimized.This translation report tries to figure out how to tackle the three main features of strategy game: entertaining,commercial and cultural from the perspective of Skopos theory,and probes into the relevant translation skills and strategies.It is hoped that this translation report will give some Skopos-oriented suggestions to the field of strategy mobile games translation in allusion to the special game text and limited device screen.
