In recent years, the Chinese mobile game market has developed rapidly and more and more Chinese games have entered the overseas market. In the process of localization of games overseas, the translation of game text is extremely important.Due to the short rise of the mobile game industry in China and the limited efforts in product development for foreign markets, there are still many defects and deficiencies in the translation of mobile games, and the completion degree of game translation is uneven.Onmyoji is a Japanese turn-based role playing type mobile game developed in China. It caters to the huge demand of the secondary subculture market and has achieved excellent results in the Chinese and Japanese mobile game markets. The success of this game proves that the translation of the game text is also successful,so the translation has certain research and learning value.Guided by vermeer's skopos theory, this report takes Onmyoji's official Japanese and Chinese game text as a case study to explore the translation strategies of mobile games from Chinese to Japanese. The report is composed of four parts. The first part is the task description, which makes an overall description of Onmyoji mobile games, language characteristics and translation status quo of mobile games, and relevant advance research. The second part is a theoretical preparation, introduces Vermeer's skopos theory and the three principles of Skopos theory, and briefly describes the guiding significance of this theory for mobile game translation. The third part is the task completion process, which is also the core chapter of this translation practice report.By combining skopos theory with practical cases such as vocabulary and syntax in game translation, translation strategies and skills are analyzed, and their functions and effects are discussed. The fourth part is the conclusion, which summarizes the application of Skopos theory in the game translation, and points out the research results and shortcomings,in order to provide some reference for the translation of similar mobile games in China.
