In the first half of 19th Century the Christianity activities in Siam showed that Christianity not only faced the influence of Buddhism in Siam, but also the choice of different groups. Throughout the initial process, the missionaries faced the situation of the ethnic Chinese population as the main object of conversion, and the opening of the China after the Opium War also brought significant impact to the missionary activities in Siam. Despite many unfavorable factors, Mongkut, the forth king of Bangkok Dynasty, ascended the throne and then the gospel preaching made great breakthrough in Siam. These breakthroughs are not significant because the number of converts is not too much. During the process of contacting with the missionaries, Siam people were influenced with the medical technology, education system, as well as the impact of the rules of international relationship. After the death of Mongkut and Baptist missionary closed its station in Siam, the early spread of protestant went to an end.
