The Study Of Shandong Missionary Cases In The Late Qing Dynasty(1881-1899)

The missionary case in modern Chinese history are an important research field.The missionary cases that occurred in China after the Opium War are different from the previous ones.They are not only simple religious events,but also the political economic cultural and social influences of Chinese officials and gentry and foreign church forces in the late Qing Dynasty.In the late Qing Dynasty,Shandong Province was a region with a large number of missions in the country.The conflicts of these missions also had a great impact on Shandong society at that time.This article takes Shandong Province as a whole research area to study modern Shandong missionary cases,using document analysis,historical analysis and dialectical analysis to sort out typical examples of modern Shandong missionary cases,summarize the characteristics of Shandong missionary cases,and further analyze the progress and limitations of modern Shandong missionary cases.Sex and its enlightenment for dealing with religious issues today.This article is divided into four parts,the first part is mainly from the research object and research significance of the thesis.The research status at home and abroad to briefly analyze the general situation of modern Shandong social research.The second part describes the origin and historical evolution of the modern Shandong missionary case.The main background of the modern Shandong missionary case is the widespread dissemination of Christianity and the various missionary privileges obtained by Christianity relying on unequal treaties.The spread of Christianity is related to modern Shandong society and politics.Conflicts in economics and culture are important reasons for the occurrence of teaching cases.The third part analyzes the typical missionary cases in the modern Shandong longitudinally,focusing on selecting four types of missions: Jinan missionary case,Yanzhou missionary case,Yanggu county missionary case,and Juye missionary case.Through the analysis of typical religious cases,it is concluded that the main types of religious cases in modern Shandong.They are the cases of missionaries plundering real estate,the case of conflict between Christianity and Confucianism,the case of priests bullying the masses,and the case of Huidang anti-religious struggle.Modern Shandong missionary cases have different characteristics in time distribution,spatial distribution and the principals of the missionary cases.Officials deal with cases in a balanced manner,protecting the people and suppressing education,and protecting the people and suppressing the people.The fourth part combines the historical facts of modern Shandong missionary cases to comment on the modern Shandong missionary cases and clarify the enlightenment of the modern Shandong missionary cases to the contemporary handling of religious issues.Through the analysis of the background,types,characteristics,and official handling methods of modern Shandong missionary cases,we can more clearly understand the development of modern church forces in Shandong Province,and clarify the historical influence and contemporary enlightenment of modern Shandong missionary cases.
