In order to play a positive role in cultural diplomacy,in order to change the stereotype of foreign audiences to Chinese image,the image of the country must be improved.Currently,the government-led Chinese film ‘going out' policy has little effect on the construction of the country image.How to correctly deal with the invasion of foreign culture in China has become a crucial issue.This paper analyzes and studies the image of China mainly by comparative analysis.Firstly,the article discusses the current situation of Chinese film overseas communication based on marketing,filmography,communication,sociology and culture from the perspectives of national image research.The second part analyzes the dilemma and problems of Chinese film and country image communication through the analysis of the international environment in China.The main manifestations are as follows: Insufficient deep connotation expressiveness of cultural phenomenon,concentrating on three contradictions: ‘China Reunion',the contradiction between harmony and common prosperity,the contradiction between the emotion of ‘humiliation' and the feeling of great power,the contradiction between ‘personal feelings' and ‘collective feelings'.The third part analyzes the development mode of American Hollywood,Bollywood,the trend of Japan and South Korea,and analyzes how China can draw lessons from past experiences to construct a positive and progressive country image.The fourth part explores the three orientations of the country image construction in overseas countries according to political,economical and cultural aspects: DE-politicization,opening up new pattern and spokesperson of the star.The government has provided a convenient environment and preferential policies for the Chinese film going on international scale.The film industry itself needs to construct the overseas image of the country by enriching the film text content,excavating the cultural heritage and transmitting the cultural positive energy.Being in the competitive environment of the global film market,Chinese film should learn from previous experience in order to improve their ability regarding how to adapt to the market.
