He Feiguang's Film Studies

He Feiguang was honored as "the most accomplished Taiwanese in the Chinese film world during the Anti-Japanese War".He participated in the production of about 30 films as a director,screenwriter and actor.The Light of East Asia directed by He Feiguang was considered to be the best propaganda model for the enemy during the Anti-Japanese War.Even so,he has long been "forgotten" in the history of Chinese cinema.This paper intends to make a systematic study of He Feiguang's acting and his director's works.Combined with the historical background of He Feiguang and his film activities in Taiwan,Hong Kong and Mainland,this paper will comprehensively consider the style and choice of his film creation.The first chapter of this paper analyzes the origin of He Feiguang's entry into the film industry and his identity transformation,and discusses the construction and performance strategies of his "villain" image.The second chapter focuses on the artistic characteristics of He Feiguang's films during the Anti-Japanese War,and analyzes the narrative techniques and audio-visual language in his films.The third chapter,through the analysis of He Feiguang's film creation in the post-war period,discusses the development of his film activities after the end of the Anti-Japanese War and the changes in the narrative structure and audio-visual language in the film.The fourth chapter mainly explains that He Feiguang finally realizes the reconstruction of his self-identity through the interpretation of "the other" in his works.
