| As the most outstanding statesman and strategist in the world,Genghis Khan,the hero of Mongolian,has always been the research object of many experts and scholars from all walks of life,such as writers,historians,political scientists,etc.;it is also the object that film and television artists are keen to shoot.As far as I know,there are 18 films and TV programs with Genghis Khan as the theme.Among these films and TV works,the author,as a Mongolian student who loves Chinese culture,is interested in the creation of Genghis Khan’s image by films and TV in China and Mongolia.However,due to the limitation of Postgraduates’ ability,only two representative films of China and Mongolia,"Genghis Khan" 998 and "Genghis Khan-No right to die"2008,are selected for comparative study.It is expected that from the perspective of film and television communication and cultural connotation,the similarities and differences of Genghis Khan’s image creation between the directors of the two countries and their expressions will be analyzed and put forward their own views.The author believes that the main reason for the differences in the image of Genghis Khan in Chinese and Mongolian films is the cultural background differences between the two film makers.The image of Genghis Khan in Chinese films is influenced by Confucian culture,which has always stressed the importance of moral consciousness.All other cultures are tools to serve and express moral culture.Genghis Khan is no exception.With the help of the hero image of Genghis Khan,the film elucidates certain moral education functions.The image of Genghis Khan in Mongolian films is influenced by Mongolian culture,that is,the culture of"Advocating heaven power" and "Respecting the excellence",focusing on the fate of heaven given and the process of becoming the strongest.Through the comparative analysis of the characters in the two films,we can see that the image building of the movie characters is influenced by the audience and the cultural background of the creator. |
