The Film is different from other forms of art essentially. It is a product of western industrialization and one of the art forms which are most closely linked to scientific and technological progress. As a exotic, in fact there is no big difference between the outset of Chinese films and that of western . However, as time passes, American films have almost occupied the world film market in a period as short as 100 years. After several moumental periods, Hollywood has already become synonymous with the film. Then, what makes American films stand out among a number of film schools, what makes Hollywood's box-office record impressive, and what makes American films popular throughout the world. This thesis tries to find out the answers of the above questions. The aim of the analysis is to learn and emulate it. Each country has its own special historical period which has crucial influence on his economy and culture as well as films. China has several major social changes in the golden age of development of the film. In a certian sense, these changes determine the direction of the development of Chinese film. After the concept of "global village" has emerged, a torrent of cultural exchange and sharing in the world is irresistible. At this time Chinese films has been seriously challenged. However, many scholars vainly think about protecting Chinese film with a national flag, which tries to let the Chinese films grow gradually in its own greenhouse. But practice has proved that this method is wrong. Chinese film should face these shocks, and absorb nutrients. The path of development of Chinese film is to discard the dross, select the essence and to dance together with the "wolf".The article starts from the binding point between Chinese film and American film. Through using the comparison method commonly used in literature, it analyses the Sino-US film relations. In addition, it develops the bold hypothesis of the development of Chinese film.
