The Relationship Between Employees’ Proactive Personality And Organizational Citizenship Behaviors,Task Performance

As complex and changing economic environment,employee’s ability to proactively solve problems becomes more and more important for organization.Employees’ proactive personality has great impact on their behavior.Drawing on the organizational political perspective,this paper will explore the impact mechanism ofemployee’s proactive personality on their organizational citizenship behavior and task performance,and then building a mediating moderation model in the Chinese organizational context.In this longitudinal study,we collected data from 243 subordinates and their direct supervisors and launched a series of statistical analysis including description statistics,reliability analysis,correlation analysis,ad multiple hierarchical regression analysis by SPSS and AMOS.The main results are as follows.(1)Proactive personality positively influences employees’ organizational citizenship behavior and task performance;(2)Organizational commitment acts as a mediator in the relationship between proactive personality and organizational citizenship behavior,task performance;(3)Proactive socialization behavior acts as a mediator in the relationship between proactive personality and organizational citizenship behavior,task performance;(4)Political skill is a moderator variance in the relationship between proactive personality and proactive socialization behavior;(5)Political skill could facilitate the positive relationship proactive personality and organizational citizenship behavior,through proactive socialization behavior’s mediating effect.
