With the rapid development of modern technology, the competition between talents are more intense than ever before. The pressure comes from many aspects, including career, family, school and so on, the source of which is the complexity of social requirement, academic atmosphere and interpersonal relationship. All of these factors exert a heavy psychological burden on people's emotions. The young are not yet mature, and they are likely to have the psychological confusion or mental disorder. Vocational college students'mental health is quite important not only for their own growth, but also for economic construction and social development. Special attention should be given to the study of vocational college student's mental health problems, because it is significant to help them accurately position their life and realize their own value. Mental health can be affected by many factors, the research mainly views the problem from the perspective of social contacts, selection of social skill, social support variables, and try to explore the direct and indirect impact on mental health level of vocational college students'social skills.The questionnaire survey is used in the research by Mao Xinhua (2006), combined with the Chinese Situation for College Students Social Skills Scale (CHUSSI), social support compiled (SSRS) by Xiao Shuiyuan, and selects College Students'Psychological Health Scale as a research tool, compiled by Wang Xin, Zuo Xiaodong, revised in 2004, using SPSS20.0 to carried on the statistical and analysis of the data. The study results show that:(1)Generally Vocational college students' mental health is optimistic, but characterized by group differences, the boys'mental health level is better than girls. The arts students'mental health is better than science students. Student cadres' mental health is better than non-student cadres. The mental health level of vocational college students from urban is better than those from rural areas. There is no significant difference between different grades.(2) The social skills of vocational students are in the middle level, but there are some group differences, and the social skills of the boys are better than girls. The social skill level of student cadres is superior to that of non-student cadres, and the social skill level of the only-one child is much better, compared with that of non-only child. The difference of social skill level between the majors and the location is not that significant.(3)The performance in objective support of vocational college students is better, but the use of performance is lower than the national norm.(4)Vocational college students' good social skills will enhance their social support, also can promote the development of their mental health.(5)Good social support of vocational college students will promote the development of their mental health.(6)Social support plays a partial intermediary role in the promotion of social skills on the level of mental health.
