Social skill is an important quality that offers a conceptual alternative to social support,and also offers an alternative approach to thinking about mental health. Social skill is a manner of activities in which an individual can interact with other people efficiently and properly in given situations. Social skill can,to a large extent,determine an individual's social relationship with other people .Good social skill can actively promote the level of social support and mental health. Recently, more and more college students have mental health problems due to bad social intercourse. They feel oppression, anxiety, self-closing and even cause tragedies of suicides or hurt, which people should pay much attention to. Generally speaking, bad social skill can cause lacking of social support, and deficiency in social support can arouse series of mental problems which can influence mental health. Whereas, the correlative empirical studies are quite scarce. It is urgent to be stressed. Now, the studies about college students'social skills are just underway, which have not been caused attention by scholars .Researcher about probing the relation of social skill ,social support and mental health is not been found so far. Based on the understand of the status of social skill, social support and mental health in vocational colleges, the purpose of this study was to discuss the effect that social skill and social support impacted on mental health, to validate that social support was a mediator variable between social skill and mental health. Based on summarizing the documents, the investigation of open-ended questionnaire, visiting the undergraduates, the theoretical hypothesis about social skill, social support and mental health is constructed. According to it, the study selected 932 students from 6 vocational colleges of Guangxi .Questionnaires adopted in the research include The College Student Mental Health Scale, The College Student Mental Health Scale and Social Support Scale, which were designed respectively by Mao xinhua, Wang xin and Xiao shuiyuan. Data analysis adopts SPSS 11.0 and LISREL 8.84.This research draws the following conclusions:1. the male students'social skill are better than the female students; the junior'social skill are the best, and the freshmen's'are better than the sophomores'; the student leaders'social skill are obviously better than others; the only–child students'social skill is not as good as other students in Connection Orientation ;the urban students has better social skill than the rural students in sociability;social skill between the students of liberal arts and the students of science is not remarkable difference.2. the female students'social support level are better than the male students; the rural students has better social support level than the urban students ; the only-child students'social skill is not as good as other students in subjective support and total scores of social support ; the student leaders'social support are better than other students; in total score of social support among different grade , the junior students are the best, and the freshmen are better than the sophomore students.3. the rural students have more anxiety symptoms than the urban students; the score of mental health between different specialty have not significantly difference , such as the students whether born in only-child or multi-child family ;the leader students'score are lower than other students, moreover, the score in the score of aim, loneliness, anxiety, obsessive and total score of mental health are significantly more lower; the females'mental health level is better than the male students', and the obviously different embody in the score of obsessive, tires-ness; except obsessive , Guangxi vocational college students'scores of other factors are higher than HeBei college students norm, which indicates that Guangxi vocational college students'mental health level are more lower.4. social skill is positively related to social support; social skill , social support are positively related to mental health ;the group having higher score in social skill has more better level in mental health and social support than that one who has lower score in social skill; social support is an absolutely mediator variable between social skill and mental health.
