Translation Report Of Some Frames In Framenet

The translation report is about translating frames from English to Chinese on Framenet.Framenet is established by UC Berkeley.It was based on Fillmore's Frame semantics and plays an important role in natural language processing and theoretical study.Scholars in other countries are building framenet in different languages.The translation task is translating frames into Chinese.It will help build Chinese rramenet.The report introduces the background,process,difficulties and solutions of the translation.The translation task was offered by School of Computer and Information Technology,Shanxi University.The source text is from Framenet.The whole process included preparation,translation,revision and acceptance.It is difficult to translate terms,definition and complex sentences during the task.So I mainly discuss the ways of translating these contents.The translation of terms has to be accurate.I put the attribute before the noun in order to clarify the definition.When I translate complicated sentence,I need to understand the logic behind these sentences.I also discuss other techniques of translation used in the process,such as linear translation,convention of word class and segementation of long sentences.
