With the globalization of the world economy, the exchange between China and other countries becomes increasingly frequent. Finance, serving as the bond of economic communication, is an integral part of the globalization process. Financial English, as an English for Specific Purposes, is the application of English in financial industry. Therefore, financial English translation is of practical value. Having equipped characteristics of general English, financial English also has features of using a great number of specialized terminologies, acronyms and proper nouns, long sentences and conventional phrases and being formal in format. Lots of foreign and domestic translation theories have laid good foundations for financial English translation, among which the functional equivalence theory and the Skopos theory are the most practical ones for they stress the importance of the conveyance of contents and information reception by the readers.Taking Huishang Bank Annual Report 2014 as the source text, the author aims at summarizing the Chinese-English translation skills in the field of finance in order to accumulate experience for translating similar texts in the future, and at the same time, expanding the knowledge of finance. The author analyzes features and difficulties and seeks solutions on the basis of the functional equivalence theory and Skopos theory and parallel texts. The first part of the paper introduces the background and significance of the study. The second part briefly outlines the pre-translation preparation, including the literature review, the translation theories applied, as well as the analysis of the source text. The third part, which is the core part of the paper, analyzes the translation in detail. The last part of the paper summarizes the report and also points out some limitations and inadequacies that still need to be tackled.
