Purpose: This research applies the collection and quantitative system of Chinese handwriting features which based on the signature screen ESP1020, aiming at exploring the internal factor structure of Chinese handwriting features, and investigating the differences of handwriting features among participants with different gender, age, education background and BMI, thereafter exploring gender discrimination with Chinese handwriting features. The main purpose of this thesis is to explore the relationship between handwriting features and occupational interest types.Methodology: After conducting several rounds of experiments initially, the electronical signature screen, written copying materials as well as the extraction of handwriting features are finally confirmed. By means of training the investigators, the author of this study selects 1474 valid handwriting samples with the convenience sampling method across the whole country, of which 467 participants complete the career interest assessment scale at the same time. Subsequently, the experimental personnel derive the handwriting data from which collected by the investigators, and assess four handwriting features subjectively. After that, the research procedures are carries out as follows, firstly, the researcher observes the factor structure of Chinese handwriting features with the method of exploratory factor analysis; secondly, analyzes the differences of handwriting features among participants with different gender, age, education background and BMI with the methods like t test, variance analysis and post hoc test; thirdly analyzes gender discrimination with Chinese handwriting features with the method of discriminant analysis; fourthly, explores the relationship between handwriting features and occupational interest types with the method of correlation analysis. Results: After conducting several rounds of factor analysis on 40 items of handwriting features selected by this study, i.e. “Space occupation”, “pen pressure”, “stroke features”, “capital”, “first word size”, “overall features”, “word spacing”, “heading margins”, and “writing time and neat degree”, with the cumulative explained variance rate of 71.706%. In addition, there are significant differences of handwriting features among participants with different gender, age, education background and BMI(P<0.05, P<0.01). Besides, the correct discrimination rate of Chinese handwriting features to gender is 63.2%. Moreover, there is a significant correlation between the handwriting features and occupational interest types(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion:(1) Eight factors can be extracted from the remaining 31 items of handwriting features, i.e. “Space occupation”, “pen pressure”, “stroke features”, “capital”, “first word size”, “overall features”, “word spacing”, “heading margins”, and “writing time and neat degree”;(2) There are differences of some handwriting features among participants with different gender, different age group, different education group and different BMI;(3) Chinese handwriting features have a better discrimination to gender;(4) There is internal correlation between different occupational interest types and certain corresponding handwriting features.
