Translation Practice Report On The Agreement Of The Chemical Equipment Introduction And The Relevant Technology

This is one translation practice report on The Technical Agreement on the Centrifugal Air Compressor and the Technical Agreement on Three Layers of Coexist Films, from Chinese to English. The practice is a translation task from China Petrochemical Co. ltd. Qilu Branch.The aim is to gather experience on translating contracts, find methods and translation strategies. After this task, the reporter will gather translation experience on the chemical equipment introduction and develop her ability. After completing, the reporter takes the original and the translated texts as the research paper, and uses the characteristics of the contract to strive a balance between fidelity and frequency in the guidance of three rules of the Skopos Theory. The reporter has enhanced her translation ability through this task, learned some knowledge in the chemical field, and improved the ability to combine theory with practice.The report includes four parts: brief introduction of the report; analysis and preparation before translating; case analysis and the conclusion and introspection. Owing to the requirements of the completely faithful translation of the entrusting party, the reporter always obeys the translation rules of fidelity and integrity, and pays more attention to the language which is clear and smooth. This report takes some typical problems in the translation process as examples to make detailed analysis. Especially in the third chapter “case analysis”, the reporter illustrates her thoughts, reasons, strategies and results, and then makes a conclusion in dealing with that case. By review and reflection, the reporter hopes to get some useful guidance in the relevant aspects in the future.
