Objective:To understand the interpersonal relationship of Freshmen in a medical college,and to verify the effect of Balint Groups on improving the level of College Students' interpersonal relationship.Method:Using a stratified cluster sampling method,investigated 600 freshmen medical college of grade 2014 with interpersonal comprehensive diagnostic scale.According to the informed consent,extract 30 students into the experimental group and control group.The experimental group received the counseling of Balint groups for ten times.After the intervention,according to the wishes of the control group members to carry out psychological counseling.Using the general information questionnaire,interpersonal comprehensive diagnostic scale as screening questionnaire,using the general information questionnaire,interpersonal comprehensive diagnostic scale,social avoidance and distress scale as pre-test post test and tracking questionnaire.Results:(1)In this study,the interpersonal relationships was in good condition,the detection rate was 30.1%,the different demographic data of college students interpersonal relationship of the degree distribution of the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05);(2)The total score of interpersonal relationship between male and female students had no statistical significance(P > 0.05),but the boys' score was lower than that of girls in communication and making friends dimension,girls' score lower than boys in heterosexual contact dimension,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.001).(3)The college student of 18 and 19 year old college students score lower than other age of college students in the total score of interpersonal relationship and the dimension of heterosexual contacts,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);The college student of 19 and 20 years score lower than other age of college students in the dimension of interpersonal and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);(4)The college students' interpersonal relationship and each dimension scores score were not statistically significant(P >0.05)which in different professional;(5)There was a significant difference in the detection rate of interpersonal relationship among college students from rural and urban areas(P < 0.05),urban students scored lower than rural students in heterosexual contact dimension,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01);(6)The score of the only child were lower than non only child in the total score of interpersonal relationship and the dimensions of interpersonal conversation,make friends,the heterosexual contact,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);(7)The score of that whose father had different cultural degree had no statistical significance in interpersonal relationship and each dimension of it(P > 0.05);The college students whose mother's cultural degree in junior high school,high school and above scored lower than that of mother's education in elementary school and college students in the total score of interpersonal relationship and the heterosexual contact dimension,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);(8)At last,we have a total of 28 college students completed the data collection,of which 13 were experimental group,control group 15.The score of experimental group and control group were not statistically significant(P >0.05);(9)After the intervention the scores of members of the experimental group were lower than pretest in each index,and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.01);The score of control group members were lower than pretest scores in the total score of interpersonal relationship,and the dimensions of interpersonal conversation,communication and making friends,heterosexual contacts,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);The experimental group members' score was lower than that of the control group in the total score of interpersonal,communication and making friends dimensions,total score of social and social distress subscale stem prognostic,and the difference is statistically significant(P < 0.05).(10)3 months after the intervention,the tracking test score of the experimental group were lower than the scores before intervention in each index,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.001).Conclusions:First,the freshman exist certain relationship problems,but the level of interpersonal relationship of total students is in good condition.Second,when the gender,age,origin,whether or not the only child,mother's education level is different,there are differences on interpersonal relationship of college students.Then,the counseling of Balint groups have a certain effect and lasting effect in improving the interpersonal relationships of college students.Finally,Balint groups has long-term effect on improving the interpersonal relationship of college students.
