With the rapid development of China's economy and society, more and more international academic exchanges are held in China and cross-cultural communication is becoming more and more frequent. At the same time, because people's education level is becoming increasingly higher, they are more sensitive to the cultural factors in cross-cultural communication. Based on this, people have higher requirements of the interpreter. It means interpreting is not only the transfer of language information, but more of cultural information. As a report on simulated English to Chinese consecutive interpreting(E-C CI), this thesis describes one simulated task conducted by the author for an academic lecture titled From Design to Publication and Beyond——Quantitative Communication Research: Experimentation, Survey and Content Analysis, which was given in “Cross-Culture Communication and Dissertation” workshop sponsored by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs high-end foreign experts project with relatively good effects.Through sufficient pre-interpreting preparations and under the guidance of cultural schema interpreting theory, the interpreter made full use of interpreting principles and strategies, such as the cultural adaptation principle, cultural transmission principle and interpreting strategies of domestication and foreignization to make this consecutive interpreting smooth on the whole. The interpreter realizes that to achieve good interpreting effects, the interpreter should make full pre-interpreting preparations, combine with the interpreting theory, practice and skills. At the same time, the interpreter should have a good performance skill, and constantly accumulate experience in order to improve the flexibility of the site response, so that the quality of interpreting could be improved. The interpreter hopes that this simulated practice report can provide reference for interpreters who will work on interpreting projects or have great interests on the interpreting project of such field.
