| This is a translation project on European Competitiveness Report 2014 (Chapter 5) published on the European Union official website in 2014. Chapter 5 mainly describes the relationships among employment growth, innovation and business cycle, and emphasizes that different innovation models play an important role in promoting employment growth at the firm level. The supporting theory of this translation report is the translation theory of Peter Newmark, a famous translation theorist and translation educationist in UK. This report explores the translation difficulties and corresponding solutions by illustrating typical examples in the chosen text. The translation report includes four chapters:Chapter One gives an overview on the project background, significance and need analysis. Chapter Two introduces the main content and language features of the source text and the supporting translation theory. Chapter Three analyzes the translation difficulties, translation methods and the application of translation theory. Chapter Four concludes the translation report by laying out gains and lessons and pointing out the problems to be solved. |
