Poverty is known international to be having negative impact on the health of child anSSSd their development.Some of the effect of poverty on child health includes higher risk of asthma,greater risk of injuries as a result of accident or neglect physical abuse,low level of developmental score in test at multiple ages and its effect on adult later in life.The main objectives of the research are to look at the effect of poverty alleviation polices on child health.To ensure that the following objective were formulated some of the existing polices on child health in Ghana,the effect of the social welfare services on the child health in Ghana and also the role of the stakeholders in the design and implementation of poverty policies on child health.Base on this the following questions were also formulated,i.what are the existing policies on child health in Ghana,ii.what are the effects of social welfare services in the alleviation of poverty on child health in Ghana,iii.How do stakeholders influence the design and implementation of child health poverty alleviating policies?The theories used in the support of the study are social selection theories and social causation theories.The mix approach was used as the methodology for this study.A total number of 150 respondents were sampled.The method used for the data collection included purposive and open ended questionnaire;while percentage,cross tabulation,frequency chart,bar chart and graphs with the help of SPSS software were the method used to in the analysis of the data obtain from the research area.The study came up with the following findings:i.the study came up with following policies form the study;child health policies,ii.A social welfare policy,national health polices poverty alleviation policies.iii.The social welfare policies had had effect on the child health according to the study.iv.The stakeholder help in the ensuring the implementation of the policies through monitoring.Though the policy put in place is having positive effect on the health of children who have benefited from it,but yet the numbers of those who have benefited are less compare to those who are aware of the existence of the policy.A lot of literature has been made available to address this need of child health and the policies put in place to cater for it yet there is no consensus on how this poverty policy should be operationalized to reflect it reason for established to make it accessible to all.Perhaps there is lack of agreement on the set controls that should be used in the delivering of service to those who are affect and the core reason for the policy existence.The study suggested researcher should also make an effort to investigate the reasons to which those who are in need or live in poverty and are aware of this poverty alleviation policy but cannot access it or cannot benefit from it.The presents of stockholder are very important to the poverty policy designing and implementation.It is recommended that the policy should be made accessible to all that are in need;also child health should be established for children only.The poverty policy should not only pay the bill of the sick children but also should be able to provide for the basic need of those that needs it.
