The Value Of Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy In The Diagnosis And Treatment Of Bronchial Foreign Body In Children

Objective:To evaluate the value of fiberoptic bronchoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of bronchial foreign body in children.Materials and Methods:The 25 cases that were admitted to our hospital had been diagnosed or suspected tracheobronchial foreign body as the object of study,and the fiberoptic bronchoscopy is performed and the clinical characteristics,imaging fatures,the perioperativecomplications were analyzed,objective to summarize the experience of fiberoptic bronchoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of bronchial foreign bodies.Results: In 25 cases,9 cases had a clear history of foreign body aspiration.All cases underwent lung CTexamination,in which only 10 cases had clear foreign body shadow.And for fiberoptic bronchoscopy examination,17 cases were found foreign body and 16 cases were successfully removed under the fiberoptic bronchoscopy;Of the 17 children diagnosed with bronchial foreign bodies,12 were male(70.58%),and 5 were female(29.41%);Between the ages of 11 months and 6 years old,82.2%of all children under the age of 3.Only 6 cases(35.2%)were diagnosed and treated pro mptly in 24 h,and 11 cases(64.7%)were treated with foreign body aspiration after24h;Theresults of bacterialculture of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid in 25 cases showed no abnormalities.Conclusion:The use of fiberoptic bronchoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of tracheobron chial foreign bodies in children can improve the accuracy and efficiency of the treatment.
