| Objective:To investigate the curative effect of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy(LSG)for obesity patients with related complications. Methods:The detailed clinical data of 28 obese patients who underwent/received LSG surgery in the 1st Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University during April 2014 to January 2017 were retrospectively analyzed.Perioperative body weight(BW),body mass index(BMI),blood glucose levels, glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),blood lipid indexes as well as levels of hemoglobin(Hb),vitamin B12 and folic acid were measured.Post-operative excess weight loss percentage(EWL%)was also calculated. Results:LSG was all implemented successfully in all patients with no conversion to laparotomy. The follow-up time was 3-36 months, and both BW and BMI were significantly decreased after operation.Among them, there were two cases with no good effect resulted in 47.2%and42.9%of EWL%.Eight cases of ten complicated with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)could improve their fasting blood glucose levels only through changing daily lifestyles/habits and diet control after surgery.Blood lipid levels and other all indexes were gradually improved after operation, however symptoms of two patients with preoperative gastroesophageal reflux(GERD)complication was not relieved. Conclusions:LSG was a significantly effective and safe therapeutic method for obese patients which could reduce the BW and improve preoperative related complications. |
