| Objective:To compare the short-term treatment of obese type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) by laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass(LRYGB)and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy(LSG).Methods:The clinical data of 32 obesity patients with T2 DM after bariatric surgery from July 2014 and July 2015 in Department of Metabolic Surgery,the Third Hospital Affiliated to Jilin University were analyzed retrospectively.Patients were divided into two groups(LRYGB group and LSG group) by the procedure they underwent and records including weight,blood sugar,blood fat and diabetes remission rate were analyzed.Results:Operations were successfully performed in all the 35 patients with no conversion to open surgery in both groups.The surgical complications included 1 fistula,1 anastomotic stenosis and 1 anastomotic ulcer.There were significant improvement in weight,blood sugar,blood fat in both groups at 3th or 6th after surgery.The LRYGB group patients had significantly deceased with weight,fat ratio,blood sugar,Hb A1 c andblood lipid level at 3rd month after surgery.The clinical complete remission rate was 80%,and the effective rate were 100% in LRYGB group and 76.5%,100% in LSG group.The difference of remission rate between two groups was not significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:LRYGB and LSG are both effective treatments for obese T2 DM.The outcome of short-term is significant, but the long-term outcome awaits further observation. |
