Objective:To investigate the nutrition status of the head and neck cancer patie nts during the radiotherapy in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical U niversity.Methods:All the head and neck cancer radiotherapy patients who were ad mitted in the department of oncology in the hospital from May 2016 to April 2017 were consecutively recorded.Nutritional Risk Screening 2002 was used for screeni ng nutritional risks in 24 hours and nutrition indicators were recorded for patients meet the inclusion criteria.All the indicators,NRS2002,and nutrition support were rec orded and evaluated weekly during the radiotherapy.Results:Among the 102 cases meet the inclusion criteria,81(79.41%)were at nutritional risks,50(49.02%)were t he nutritional defect parts.Only 52 patients(64.20%)at nutritional risk received nut ritional support,who were mainly enteral nutrition(39/52),while 3 of 21 patients(14.29%)without nutritional risk received nutritional support.There are differences on the losing weight and BMI after the radiotherapy(p=0.000,<0.01).There are differ ences on the albumin(p=0.012),hemoglobin(p=0.002),losing weight(p=0.000,<0.01)and BMI(p=0.000,<0.01)after the radiotherapy between the nutritional risk patients and the without nutritional risk patients.There are differences on the losing weight and BMI after the radiotherapy(p=0.000,<0.01).There are differences on the album in(p=0.04),hemoglobin(p=0.016),losing weight(p=0.03)and BMI(p=0.016)after the ra diotherapy between the parenteral nutrition support patients and the without parenter al nutrition support patients.Conclusion:During the radiotherapy,the nutritional risks of the head and neck cancer patients were greatly increased,and the nutrition status were descend compared with the previous.Parenteral nutrition support can improve the nutritional status among the patients with nutritional risks.But the using of the nutritional support is low during the radiotherapy in the nutritional risks patients in the clinical.The effective nutrition support should be used more during the radiot herapy patients.
