Objective: To investigate the changes of the levels of D-dimer(D-D)and CRP of children with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(MPP)and their evaluation value in judging the severity of the disease. Methods: A total of 68 children in our hostipal with MPP were divided into the light group(n=45)and the severe group(n=23)according to the severity of the disease and another 43 children with acute viral upper respiratory tract infections at the same time as the control group.Plasma levels of D-D and CRP were measured using fluorescence immunity method and immune colorimetric method respectively. Then studying on the relationship between their levels and the severity of MPP.Results: The differences of the levels of D-D and CRP between the light group, the severe group and the control group were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of D-D of the severe group was higher than the light group and the control group(P<0.05),there was no significant difference between the light group and the control group(P>0.05).The level of CRP of the light group and the severe group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the level of the severe group was higher than those of the light group(P<0.05),The levels of D-D and CRP of acute phase of the severe group were higher than those of the recovery phase(P<0.01).The correlation coefficient of D-D and CRP was 0.83(P<0.05).Conclusion: Children with MPP,especially those were in acute and severe period of time, have increased levels of D-D and CRP which were relevant, suggesting that they are the indicators which can judge the severity of the disease.
