Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and the safety of Five line music therapy by using it to treat the type of Graves' Disease which is called “strong liver fire”.Methods: In this study,66 patients with Graves' Disease who meet the inclusion criteria were recruited and randomly divided into treatment group and control group.33 cases in the control group were given thiamazole tablets combined with Dan Zhi xiaoyao powder;The other 33 cases in the treatment group were treated with the intervention of the Five line music therapy on the basis of the control group.Two groups of patients had rested sufficiently,avoided mental stimulation.Besides,they were given adequate nutrition,avoided eating iodine containing foods,drugs and spicy foods.No alcohol,cigeratte and coffee was available during the whole process.The duration of the treatment was 8 weeks.In order to evaluate the Clinical efficacy and the safety of Five line music therapy in the treatment of the strong liver fire type of Graves' Disease,the observation mainly included TCM symptom score,serum thyroid hormone level(FT3,FT4,TSH),Thyroid stimulating hormone receptor antibody(TR-Ab),blood routine and liver function.The data were analyzed by statistical software SPSS20.0.Results:(1)TCM symptom score: In terms of TCM symptom score of the two groups after 4 weeks' and 8 weeks' treatment compared with before,there were statistically significant differences(P<0.01).After treatment for 4 weeks,the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05),After 8 weeks' treatment,the treatment group was significantly better than the control group(P<0.01);(2)Clinical symptom: The symptoms of both groups were improved after 8 weeks' treatment(P<0.05),but in terms the improvement of the symptoms like sweating,palpitation,irritability,fatigue,insomnia,dreaminess and so on,the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05);(3)Serum thyroid hormone level(FT3?FT4): FT3?FT4 of both groups after 4 weeks' and 8 weeks' treatment compared with before,there were statistically significant differences(P<0.01),After 8 weeks' treatment,FT3 ? FT4 was compared between groups,the treatment group was significantly better than the control group(P<0.01);(4)TSH:TSH of the two groups after 8 weeks' treatment was compared among the groups,there was statistical difference(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference between groups(P>0.05);(5)TR-Ab: TR-Ab of the two groups after 8 weeks' treatment was compared among the groups and between the two groups,There was no statistical difference(P>0.05);(6)Total efficacy: The total effective rate of the treatment group after 4 weeks' and 8 weeks' treatment respectively was 90%,96.7%;The total effective rate of the control group after 4 weeks' and 8 weeks' treatment respectively was 73.3%,86.7%.By rank sum test,there was statistical difference between two groups(P<0.05),the treatment group was better than the control group.Conclusions: The overall effecacy of Five line music therapy which simultaneously combined traditional Chinese medicine with the western medicine in the treatment of Graves' Disease(strong liver fire type)is better than that of the use of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine treatment;Five line music therapy can not only improve the thyroid hormone level of Graves' Disease,but also improve the clinical symptoms of the patients;With unique efficacy and advantages in the treatment of Graves' Disease,Five line music therapy is not only in line with the current medical social psychological medical model but aiso easy and to operate.In addition,it embodies the characteristics of TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment.Therefore,it is worthy of promotion.
