Objective: Based on the acknowledge of the current situation of public health teachers in a medical college in Xinjiang,this paper analyzes and finds out the problems existing in the construction of teaching staff in Xinjiang medical academy and Universities,focusing especially on the gap between the full-time teachers and practice base teachers and putting forward corresponding measures respectively to them,in order to provide empirical basis for establishing effective incentive mechanism,training the backbone of teaching and research,and improving the development and competitiveness of public health education in medical academy and universities.Methods: This paper takes the teachers of Public Health Academy of Xinjiang Medical University,including full-time,part-time and practice base teachers as the object of study.This paper uses qualitative methods and quantitative methods to carry out questionnaire survey in order to investigate the basic situation of teachers and their in-service education and training and the results of work and the related work of teachers are also investigated.At the same time,through interviews with full-time teachers and practice base teachers and open problem collection,this paper is aimed to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the current situation of the construction of the Faculty of Public Health Academy.Results: Based on the analysis of the basic situation of teachers,the structure of teachers' team in public-health academy is single and needs to be improved.The distribution of teachers' age and educational background is reasonable,but the distribution of professional titles is not reasonable,which is not conducive to the optimization of teaching effect and may hinder the improvement of teaching quality.The development of teachers' scientific research ability is not balanced,and the output of high-level scientific research is less.Teachers' training ways and institutional policies are imperfect.Based on the entropy theory to evaluate the teaching staff,the basic situation of the teaching staff in recent three years has shown the trend of optimization and improvement.Conclusion: In order to build a good team of public health teachers,support from leadership of schools,practice base and corresponding policy may be necessary and we should also establish the reasonable talent introduction and cultivation mechanism,adjust and optimizing the structure of teachers and encourage teachers to continue their education and improve the teaching ability of teachers.We should promote the teaching with scientific research,improve the incentive mechanism and the management mechanism of the teaching practice base,create space for development,build a team of public health teachers which has not only the reasonable professional,academic,age structure but also a good quality of teaching ability,higher level of academic research and overall optimization and which can adapt to the development of modern higher education.
