Objective: The present study was carried out to determine the effect of the biofeedback therapy on the psychological status as well as the clinical outcome of female patients undergoing IVF-ET in their first cycle.Methods: 230 female patients undergoing IVF-ET treatment for the first cycle were recruited from the reproductive medicine department of A third rate hospital from January 2015 to December 2016.A total of 230 questionnaires were issued,and 223 copies were recovered,the effective recovery rate was 96.96%.Inclusion criteria: Patients fufilled all the following criteria were recruited in the study.infertility(diagnostic criteria according to the “the Eighth Edition obstetrics and Gynecology”);female patients aged from 21 to 45;SAS evaluation points ?50 points and SDS original score ?53 points;patients with the ability to understand and execute simple instructions of doctors;Because of thefemale patients tubal factor undergoing IVF-ET with the short acting rectangular regimen for the first cycle.informed consent.Exclusion criteria: Patients fulfilled any one ctiteria in the following were excluded from the study.severe visual impairment or hearing impairment or any other factors that would influence the noamal biological feedback.patients with comprehension difficulties,dementia,serious cardiovascular and renal dysfunction and mental problems.taking psychiatric and other emotion regulating drugs in the past 3 months.At last,60 patients were recruited in the study and were divided into intervention group and control group randomly.Patients in the control group were treated with routine nursing,while the ones in the intervention group were treated with routine nursing plus biofeedback therapy.The psychological status of patients were assessed by questionnaire prior to and after the surgery respectivelly,of which including basic situation of patients,self rating Anxiety Scale(Self-Rating Anxiety Scale,SAS),self rating Depression Scale(self-raring depression scale,SDS),symptom Checklist-90(The self-report symptom inventory,Symptom checklist,90,SCL-90).14 days after embryo transfer,venous blood specimens were collected to test human chorionic gonadotropin.Statistics software SPSS17.0 was used in data analysis and statistical description.Single sample test was used for measurement of data with normal distribution while chi square test was used for statistical analysis of count data and P<0.05 was considered as statistically significant.Results:1 The biofeedback therapy was not effective in treatment with negative psychological symptoms in the control group,such as anxiety,depression and obsessive-compulsive symptoms,and the difference was not statistically significant.2 The biofeedback therapy was effective in treatment with negative psychological symptoms,such as obsessive-compulsive symptoms,anxiety,depression and in the intervention patients for their mental status has greatly improved after the treatment,and the difference was statistically significant.3 There were significant differences in the scores of anxiety,depression and obsessive-compulsive symptoms between the intervention group and the control group after treatment.The number of patients being pregnant was 17 in the intervention group,and the pregnancy rate was 56.7%.While in the control group,the number of patients being pregnant was 13,and the pregnancy rate was 43.3%.The pregnancy rate was significantly higher in the intervention group than that in the control group.However,there was no significant difference between the two groups.Conclusions:1 The incidence of anxiety and depression in the female undergoing IVF-ET treatment was 17.9%,which was much higher than that of the normal population.In the present study,the incidence of depression was 26.9%,and the rate of anxiety and depression was 9.87%.2 The biofeedback therapy was effective in treatment with anxiety,depression and other negative psychology symptoms in infertility patients.3 The pregnancy rate of the intervention group was significantly higher than that of the control group(56.7% vs.43.3%).
