Objective:To investigate the correlation between Helicobacter pylori infection and the incidence of colorectal polyps,we performed a meta-analysis of correlation on detection methods, athological types and geographic regions. Methods:Relevant literatures were collected from online retrieval(MEDLINE,PubMed,EMBASE and Science Direct database)up to Mar.2016.The RevMan5.3 software was used to analyze the literatures that meet the criteria for Meta-analysis.Result:In total,136126 total sample size were included into eighteen studies,of which 724 62 were colorectal polyps cases,63664 were noncolorectal polyps cases,13193 were colorectal polyps(Hp+)cases,11452 were noncolorectal polyps(Hp+)cases.According to our results,Hp is a risk factor of colorectal polyps,OR=1.42(95% CI:1.24-1.62,P<0.01).A sensitivity analysis revealed the results were stable. There is no significant publication bias that be observed in in publication bias tests. The correlation between Hp infection and colorectal polyps had statistically significant on the basis of Hp detection using subgroup analysis.(Serum detection: OR=1.64(95% CI:1.43-1.88,P<0.01),non-serum detection: OR=1.40(95% CI:1.36-1.45,P<0.01).However,the results of pathology subgroup analysis indicated that there was no significant correlation between Hp infection and non-neoplastic polyps,OR=1.04(95% CI:0.72-1.48,P=0.84).On the contrary, the correlation between Hp infection and neoplastic polyp was dramatically significance,OR=1.47(95% CI:1.31-1.64,P<0.01).The different populations subgroup analysis showed that Hp infection and colorectal polyps existed in significant correlation, for example,Europe: OR=2.00(95% CI:1.49-2.67,P<0.01),Asia: OR=1.42(95% CI:1.31-1.54,P<0.01),Americas: OR=1.41(95% CI:1.36-1.46,P<0.01).Conclusion:Hp infection is a risk factor for the incidence of colorectal polyps.Hp infection is associated with the incidence of colorectal polyps, especially in colorectal neoplastic polyps, and the correlation is not affected by the Hp test and the population.
