Objective: To investigate the correlation between the serum levels of Brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)and Ghrelin and coronary heart disease(CHD)after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)with depression. Methods: A total of 90 patients with coronary heart disease who underwent PCI were enrolled from Cardiology department of Gansu Provincial People's Hospitalfrom February 2016 to August 2016.The Hamilton depression(HAMD)score was respectively performed three days preoperation and three days after operation, all of the subjects were divided into the coronary heart disease after PCI with depression group(n=40)and coronary heart disease after PCI without depression group(n=50)according to HAMDscale.Serum Brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)and Ghrelin levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and the correlation between the serum levels of BDNFand Ghrelin and coronary heart diseaseafter PCI with depression was analyzed.Results:1.Comparison of general clinical dataFor gender, smoking, age,BMI,Gensiniscore, blood pressure,FBS,blood lipid, liver function, renal function, differences had no statistical significance(P>0.05)betweencoronary heart disease after PCI with depression groupand coronary heart disease after PCI without depression group.2.Comparison of HAMD scoreHAMD score ofcoronary heart disease after PCI with depression group was obviously higher than that in non-depression group after PCI(P<0.05).3.Comparison of the Serum levels of BDNF and GhrelinThe levels of serum BDNF and Ghrelin in patients with coronary heart disease after PCI with depression group were significantly lower than those in non-depression group after PCI(P<0.05).4.Comparison of the serum levels of BDNF and Ghrelin in different depressiondegreeThe levels of serum BDNF and Ghrelin gradually decreased with the degree of depression after PCI.5.Correlation analysis between Serum levels of BDNF and Ghrelin and HAMD score and correlation between Serum levels of BDNF and GhrelinPearson linear analysis showed that the serum levels of BDNF and Ghrelin were significantly negatively correlated with HAMD score(r=-0.711,P<0.05,r=-0.711,P<0.05),the serum Ghrelin level was notably positively correlated with the serum BDNF level.Conclusions:1.PCImay be one of the reasons which lead to the generation of depression after percutaneous coronary intervention.2.Serum BDNF and Ghrelin levels have a clinical predictive value on depression after PCI and to some extent can reflect the severity of depression with coronary heart disease after PCI.3.When patients receiving PCI to treat coronary heart disease, the clinicians should conside and assess the mental state of patients, and giving correspondingintervention as soon as possible to improve the quality of life of patients.
