Objective Summarize the recent research progress of male breast cancer. Methods To study the risk factors, clinical and pathological characteristics, genomics and proteomics, diagnosis and treatment of male breast cancer by reading the recent literature, and to summarize the research. Results BRCA2 was the most common genetic susceptibility gene, and the expression rate was higher than that of female. There were gender differences in single nucleotide polymorphisms and relative risk. The most important mutant gene in MBC is PIK3 CA.Cyclin D1 and c-myc overexpression suggest that the prognosis is better,p21,p57 and PCNA overexpression suggest poor prognosis. The node metastasis positive rate in P27 negative ptient is lower than the positive one.Male breast cancer patients common complaint is located in the areola and its surrounding painless mass, and compared to women more prone to nipple involvement, lymph node metastasis.Male breast cancer pathology in the most common type of invasive ductal carcinoma, and lobular carcinoma is rare. The vast majority of male breast cancer is hormone receptor-positive type,HER-2 positive rate and lower compared to women, histological type of the vast majority is luminal A type.Adjuvant chemotherapy can bring survival benefits to MBC,radiotherapy can contribute to inhance the local control rate. The most commonly recommended endocrine drug of MBC is tamoxifen.Tumor size and axillary lymph node metastasis is the main indicator of the prognosis of male breast cancer. Conclusion So far, there are still many unsolved problems, such as the relation beween sentinel lymph node biopsy and the prognosis of male breast cancer, male breast cancer optimal chemotherapy regimen, targeted therapy and so on.
