Clinical Observation Of The Effect Of Therapy Of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine And Acupuncture In PCOS

Objective: polycystic ovarian syndrome known as a common and intractable gynecological disease,has been the focus and difficulty of gynecological endocrinology research till today.Our project was designed to explore if there is a better clinic response or a shorter treatment cycle,when adding acupuncture into basic traditional Chinese medicine,Thus to provide a new idea or method for the treatment of PCOS patients.Method: 60 cases who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups with 1:1 proportion.(1)The control group:30 cases were only treated with TCM.(2)The treatment group: 30 cases were treated with TCM and the acupuncture.After three cycles of treatment,the curative effect was analyzed through clinical symptom and sign,the change of serum hormone level,and the recovery of ovary ovulation.Results:(1)Menstruation efficacy: After 3 cycles of treatment,both groups have a significant improvement in a more regular menstrual cycle.The treatment group has a higher effective rate(93.33%)compared with the control group(90.00%).(Z=-2.32,P<0.05)(2)In the curative effect of TCM syndrome: After 3 cycles of therapy,according to the statistics of TCM syndrome results,the treatment group has a higher effective rate(96.67%)compared with the control group(90%).(Z=-2.50,P<0.01).Especially in the improving acne,relieving mitigation,dizziness,tinnitus,insomnia and hot flashes,the treatment group was better than the(P<0.05),but in lassitude,irritability and vaginal dryness,the two groups had an equivalent effect(P>0.05).(3)The clinical efficacy: the total efficiency of treatment group is96.67%,higher than control group(Z=-1.977,P<0.01).(4)Pregnancy: After 3 cycles of therapy,comparing the two groups,that treatment group and the control group have no significant difference,but in the treatment group,there is one patient was pregnant,relative the control group,the treatment group better.(5)Hormone level: After 3 cycles of therapy,LH ? FSH/LH AND Testosterone level dropped down and E2 increased than before treatment in experimental group.In control group,the level of LH?FSH/LH was also dropped down than before treatment(P<0.05),but there is indifference in Testosterone level.Comparing the two groups,the level of LH and Testosterone(P<0.05)also the ratio of FSH/LH(P<0.01)decreased more obviously in the treatment group than control group.(6)Follicle development: After 3 cycles of therapy,the Follicle development is better in experimental group than control group(P<0.05).Conclusion: The clinical efficacy of treating PCOS patients with integrated traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture was better than the control group just with TCM cycle.As a more obviously improvement of menstruation situation,better relieving TCM syndrome,more significantly decreasing hormone levels of FSH and LH,and increasing E2,better recovering in the ovarian function,integrated traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture has a better clinic response or a shorter treatment cycle.
