Clinical Case Reports Of Complete Denture For Gerontal Patients

Objective: To discuss the method and effect of complete denture for gerontal patients,in order to improving the success retio of restoration.Methods: Selecting 10 patients that complete denture for gerontal patients in the hospital from February 2015 to June 2016,age from 55 to 80.The patients were divided into three groups: First group: 2 cases of complete denture.Second: 5 cases of single complete denture.Third:3 cases of complete overdenture.5 cases were the first time for denture restoration,5 cases to accept denture restoration again.The process of denture restoration are:(1)Through a comprehensive oral examination and pre-restoration treatment.(2)Doctor find the causes of the failure of the former restoration and then determine the way to avoiding the same problem again.(3)design.(4)Making second impression?cast pouring?wax base plate.(5)Recording and transferring maxilla and mandibular relations.(6)arrangement artificial teeth and try it.(7)Adjusting occlusal and giving medication.Patients remaining tooth are taken personalized process: removing the residual roots or fixed bridge which is loosen and can not withstand the normal chewing pressure.Treatment the healthy residual roots.Making the casting root cap,?sleeve crown,?precision attachments and other devices to enhance the retention force base on the periodontium condition.Pay attention to the occlusal function restoration,to achieve the centric balanced occlusion,protrusive balanced occlusion and lateral balanced occlusion.At last.Comparing the photos before and after of restoration,and follow-up for half a year to observing the restoration effect.Results: After restoration with 3 kinds of different types of complete denture,the 10 patients were satisfied with the form,function and color.Especially for the effect of age,they are more satisfied.Follow-up for half a year to observe the restoration effect,patients have no obvious discomfort,denture adhesive,the contact is closing between the denture and the mucosa,and good masticatory function.abutment teeth have no significant loosening,the oral mucosa have no red and swollen.Conclusion:1.The complete denture for gerontal patients should be fully analyzing the characteristics of the patients to restoration,carries on the reasonable design and implement the correct operating steps and methods,to avoid restoration failure.2.Complete denture for gerontal patients with the alveolar ridge flatness,after a reasonable adjustment,elaborate,the patients can have a pair of ideal.
