A Within-subject Comparison Of Closed Mouth Impression Techniques With Lingual-occlusion For Complete Dentures

Objective: To explore clinical effect observation of closed-mouth impression techniques combined with linqual occlusion for complete denture.Methods: Ten patients for using complete dentures from January 2009 to May 2010 at Dalian Stomatological Hospital. The male patients are 6 cases and the female patients 4 cases. The average age is 65.5 years old. According to Gawood-Howell classification criterion. One of them is the first time to use the complete denture .Residual ridge is bad condition for 7 cases while 2 cases belong to worse condition residual ridge. For one patient making fourth complete dentures with different ways, using two different types of impression techniques consist of (opened/closed-mouth), adding to different type occlusion selections (balance/linqual), meanwhile, designing a model for making (1.2.3.4.) number. The combined linqual occlusion can improve the retention of complete denture and balance condition to the stability carriers.
