Objective: To explore clinical effect observation of closed-mouth impression techniques combined with linqual occlusion for complete denture.Methods: Ten patients for using complete dentures from January 2009 to May 2010 at Dalian Stomatological Hospital. The male patients are 6 cases and the female patients 4 cases. The average age is 65.5 years old. According to Gawood-Howell classification criterion. One of them is the first time to use the complete denture .Residual ridge is bad condition for 7 cases while 2 cases belong to worse condition residual ridge. For one patient making fourth complete dentures with different ways, using two different types of impression techniques consist of (opened/closed-mouth), adding to different type occlusion selections (balance/linqual), meanwhile, designing a model for making (1.2.3.4.) number. Patients use the complete denture for unknown the contents. During the test, the doctor, technician and nurse is not to be changed for the currency of studies. One week, two weeks, one month and tree months after having dentures, patient denture satisfaction(PDS) was evaluated in all patients, including the retention of complete denture etc. Through the way of the report and telephone. Finally, denture tenderness for mastication efficiency. For enhance the accuracy and reliability of the result. After of the survey, was that one of the dentures would be preferred by the patients.Results: patients believe that closed-mouth is more stable than opened-mouth impression techniques, and doctor repair the time is short, mastication efficient is better using closed-mouth techniques with lingualized occlusion.Conclusion: The closed mouth impression technique is a well-accepted technique for constructing the complete denture, functional impressions for complete dentures using the patient-conducted muscular motion technique for all border records are obtained from the patient's own movements. The combined linqual occlusion can improve the retention of complete denture and balance condition to the stability carriers.
