| Objective:To analyze the correlation of neck pain with cervical curvature and tendon injury in juveniles.Methods:In total of 179 cases of juveniles with neck pain who were included into Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine were collected into this study,among of which there were 97 males and 82 females aged between 4 to 18 years old.The neck pain degree was measured by visual analogue scale(VAS).The cervical curvature degree was determined by Borden method.Then,the correlation of neck pain degree with cervical curvature degree as well as the neck pain duration with cervical curvature degree was analyzed.81 young people were included,58 neck pain adolescents were consisted of 32 males and 26 girls;and the 23 neck pain adolescents included 15 boys and 8 girls.The tendon injury symptoms were diagnosed via the palpable,and the proportion of tendon injury symptoms was then compared between the neck pain group and no neck pain group.Additionally,the number of tender points in the two groups was statistically analyzed.35 young patients with cervical pain were included,the 10 normal curvature subjects,13 subjects with straight curvature and 12 subjects with the curvature of the anti-bow group.And then palpate the neck and the number of nodules and compare with the number of three sectionsResults:The results of cervical curvature of 179 cases of juveniles with neck pain aged 12.9±4.2 showed the characteristics of variety,including normal,decrease,straight,bow,up straight down bow,up bow down straight,S and increase,the proportion of which were respective 23.46%,21.23%,28.49%,14.52%,8.38%,1.12%,2.23%and 0.56%.In addition,juveniles during 16 to 18 years old were the most susceptible to the neck pain.The results of VAS score showed that the bow group was higher than the other groups,and there was statistical difference between the bow group and normal group(P<0.05).The correlation of neck pain degree with cervical curvature degree showed a weak negative correlation(r=-0.243).And,there was no correlation between neck pain duration and cervical curvature degree(r=-0.05).In the study of correlation of ncck pain and tendon injury showed that the mean age of the neck pain group was 14.3±2.9,and the average age of the neckless group was 12.9±3.2.The number of the two groups was comparable in sex and age(P>0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups.The rate of injury was 93.1%.In the absence of neck pain,the ratio of muscle injury was 43.5%.The results showed that the incidence of tendon injury in the neck pain group was significantly higher than that in the no neck pain group,and there was a statistical difference in the two groups(P<0.05).In addition,the average of pain points in the neck and shoulder of the neck pain group reached 4.8±2.7,while the average in the no neck pain group reached 2.3±2.4.The result indicated that the number of pain points in the neck pain group was more than that in the no neck pain group,and there was a statistical difference in the two groups(P<0.05).In the study of the correlation between cervical curvature and tendon injury,the X ray showed the curvature of juveniles was divided into the normal curvature,straightening curvature and anti-arch curvature,the mean age of which was respectively 12.6±3.9,13.0±1.9,12.9±2.7.And,there was no statistical significance in the age baselines among the three groups(P>0.05).The average of tendon pain point in the normal cervical curvature was 4.8±1.8,and the straightening curvature was 5.2±2.1 and the anti-arch curvature was 6.9±2.7.The number of tendon pain point in the anti-arch curvature group was significantly more than that in the normal curvature and straightening group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Although neck pain in juvenile rarely appeared the serious degeneration changes in the cervical vertebra,such as disc degeneration,osteophyte hyperplasia,and nerve root or spinal cord or vascular compression,the abnormal cervical curvature diagnosed by X ray was common in young patients with neck pain.So,the risk of abnormal cervical curvature is increasing as the neck pain attacked the juveniles.Usually,the abnormal cervical curvature in the young patients mainly included reduced curvature,straightening curvature and anti-bow.The neck pain degree shows the highest when the cervical curvature is bow.But,the neck pain degree is slightly and negatively correlated with cervical curve.There is no correlation between pain duration and cervical curvature.Therefore,much attention and treatment should be paid to the abnormal cervical curvature in juveniles with neck pain.Meanwhile,the tendon injury was prevalent in the young patients with neck pain or without neck pain.The more tendon pain point in the neck pain group indicated that proportion of tendon injury in the neck pain group was obviously higher than that in the no neck pain group.In addition,the number of tender points in the curvature of the anti-arch group was significantly higher than that of the normal curvature group and the straightening curvature group. |
