ObjectiveIn this study, the clinical efficacy of the treatment of neck and shoulder myofascial pain syndrome based on the theory of preventive treatment of disease was compared with that of ordinary acupuncture,so as to explore a safe, painless, rapid and accurate solution to the clinical symptoms of patients with neck and shoulder myofascial pain syndrome and shorten the course of treatment.MethodsFrom March 4,2022 to January 10,2023,74 patients with neck and shoulder myofascial pain syndrome were diagnosed in the Center for Preventive Treatment of Disease, the Eighth Clinical Medical College Affiliated to Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Among them,72 patients met the inclusion criteria. They were randomly divided into treatment group and control group by random number table method,36 in each group. The control group was treated with ordinary acupuncture, and the treatment group was treated with painless and non-sensitive tendon acupuncture. Both groups were treated once every 3 days,2 times a week as a course of treatment, and all patients were treated for 2 weeks.During the treatment,8 cases fell off. Finally, the number of patients completed in the treatment group was 32,and the number of patients completed in the control group was 32.The simplified Mc Gill scale score,NDI cervical dysfunction scale score and cervical range of motion of the 64 subjects were recorded at2 time points before the first treatment and 2 weeks after the end of treatment. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of tendon acupuncture based on the theory of preventive treatment of disease in the treatment of neck and shoulder myofascial pain syndrome.Results1.General information : There was no significant difference in age, gender, course of disease and other baseline conditions between the two groups before treatment(P >0.05),which was comparable.2.Comparison of simplified Mc Gill scale scores : There was no significant difference in simplified Mc Gill scores(including PRI score,VAS score,PPI score and MPQ score)between the two groups before treatment(P > 0.05).There were significant differences in simplified Mc Gill scores(including PRI score,VAS score,PPI score and MPQ total score)between the two groups before and after treatment(P <0.01).After 2 weeks of treatment, the PRI score,VAS score and MPQ score of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in PPI score between the treatment group and the control group after 2 weeks of treatment(P >0.05).3.Comparison of NDI cervical dysfunction scale scores : There was no significant difference in NDI cervical dysfunction scale scores between the two groups before treatment(P > 0.05),which was comparable. There was a statistically significant difference in the NDI cervical dysfunction scale score between the two groups before and after treatment(P < 0.01).After 2 weeks of treatment, the NDI cervical dysfunction scale scores of the two groups were compared between the two groups, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).4.In the measurement of cervical joint mobility, there was no significant difference in cervical flexion, extension, left rotation, right rotation, left flexion and right flexion between the treatment group and the control group before the first treatment(P > 0.05).After treatment, the cervical joint activity in all directions of the two groups was improved compared with that before treatment(P>0.05),and the left rotation, left flexion and right flexion of the treatment group were significantly different from those of the control group(P < 0.05).5.Efficacy : 32 cases in the treatment group,2 cases were markedly effective,29 cases were effective,1 case was ineffective, the total effective rate was 96.88 %;in the control group,32 cases,0 case was markedly effective,23 cases were effective,9 cases were ineffective, and the total effective rate was 71.88 %.The difference between the two groups after treatment was statistically significant by Mann-Whitney test(P < 0.05).It shows that under the same treatment times, the curative effect of tendon acupuncture therapy on neck and shoulder myofascial pain syndrome is better than that of ordinary acupuncture therapy.ConclusionBased on the theory of preventive treatment of disease, tendon acupuncture therapy is an effective acupuncture method for the treatment of neck and shoulder myofascial pain syndrome. It can not only regulate the constitution to protect the vital qi,make the defensive qi biochemical active, but also effectively stimulate the tendon points, regulate the defensive qi,prevent the transmission of meridian diseases to meridian diseases or viscera diseases,so as to achieve the effect of rapid treatment of neck and shoulder myofascial pain syndrome. In terms of relieving pain, improving cervical function and improving cervical joint flexion activity, tendon acupuncture therapy is superior to ordinary acupuncture. Therefore, tendon acupuncture therapy should be popularized in the clinical treatment of neck and shoulder myofascial pain syndrome.
