ObjectiveTo analyze factors influencing the severity of pain during hysterosalpingography and observe the effect of Auricular-plaster Therapy to ease the pain during hysterosalpingography.MethodsAccording to the inclusive criteria,180 infertility patients prepared for hysterosalpingography(HSG)at the intervention therapy department of our hospital were randomly divided into experimental group(n=91)and comfort group(n=89).The experimental group was treated with acupoints of Zigong,Shenmen,Pizhixia,Neifenmi traditional sticking pressure while the comfort group were not given any stimulus.15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the HSG,the experimental group patient is asked press ear every time a frequency of 60-80 beats/min,each operation need constant for a minute. The general clinical records includes:patient age, eductaion, duration of infertility, medical history(previous delivery, abdominal surgery, menstrual cramps),type of infertility,HSG results.Pain was assessed by a visual analogue scale(VAS)during and after the HSG procedure.Compare the VAS scoreof two groups at three different times during the process of HSG.ResultsThe contrast instillation is the period which is the highest score of VAS,it was significant difference compared with the other times(P<0.01).During the contrast instillation, the score of secondary infertility patients was lower than primary infertility patients(P<0.05),furthermore the score of natural birth was the lowest in the several types of delivery(P<0.05).Patients who have abnormal HSG results had higher VAS scores at time of 30 QWminutes after the procedure than thosewho had confirmed bilateral patency of the tubes(P<0.05).Compare the two groups, the patient age, education, duration of infertility, medical history(previous delivery, abdominal surgery, menstrual cramps)were almost the same(P>0.05).However,the score of VAS of experimental group was lower than the comfort group at three different times during the process of HSG(P<0.05).ConclusionThe contrast instillation is the most painful period during the HSG procedure.Type ofinfertility and delivery, abnormal HSG result seem to be the factor influencing thesensation of pain perceived by patients during the HSG.For patients prepared for hysterosalpingography,Auricular-plaster Therapy is an effective method of pain relief.
